The best 556 Icarus loadout in Modern Warfare 2

One of the best LMGs players can use in multiplayer

If players are planning on hopping over to Warzone 2 when it releases on Nov. 16, then they’ll want to level up certain guns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. More specifically, players will want to focus on specific weapon classes, like light machine guns.

Traditionally, either LMGs or marksman rifles feature some overpowered weapons at the beginning of a new Warzone integration. For Warzone 2, content creators are predicting that the LMGs will be dominant. While the majority of the attention is on the RAAL MG, players might also want to level up other LMGs. One that immediately stands out is the 556 Icarus, which has a fantastic loadout in Modern Warfare 2.

The 556 Icarus is unlocked via the M4 Weapon Platform. Vault Edition owners will already have this LMG unlocked while other players will need to rank up the M4 and FTAC Recon to gain access to this weapon. This is in players’ best interest, as the 556 Icarus has the ability to dominate both multiplayer right now and Warzone 2 when it comes out. However, it only has this capability if players are using the right set of attachments on it.

As the 556 Icarus is an LMG, players will struggle with mobility and excel at medium to long-range while using it. With the right loadout, however, players can maximize the Icarus’ strengths.

  • Muzzle: Forge-TAC Castle Compensator
  • Barrel: FTAC Coldforge 16″ Barrel
  • Stock: Demo Precision Elite Factory
  • Rear Grip: Sakin VX Grip
  • Underbarrel: VX Pineapple Vert Grip

This loadout is designed around recoil control and damage range. Players won’t be able to be too mobile with this loadout, but that’s not where the 556 Icarus shines. It shines at medium-long range where players can aim down sights at a distance and mow enemies down with a few accurate shots.
