The best .50 GS loadout in MW2

The .50 GS is one of the more common secondary weapons you will see in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, mainly thanks to its notoriety within the community. After some post-launch buffs, the .50 GS is a capable pistol that players can use to their advantage in a multitude of situations. However, if you really want to get the most out of the .50 GS in MW2, you need to use its strongest loadout.

• Barrel: SA Longshot-50
• Laser: FJX DIOD-70
• Trigger Action: SA Hare Trigger
• Magazine: 10 Round Mag
• Rear Grip: GS .50 Wood Grain

The SA Longshit-50 barrel kicks off the loadout, giving you superior damage range without sacrificing too much in the way of mobility. You also get a bump in your magazine size with the 13 Round Mag. The rest of the loadout is focused on improving the .50 GS’ mobility so you can get your gun up faster and land shots onto enemies quicker.

The perks I have chosen are Double Time and Bomb Squad to allow players to run faster and survive explosions. Focus is the Bonus Perk pick due to the .50 GS’ tendency to kick when being shot at. The Ultimate Perk is Ghost so players can stay off of the radar when a UAV is in the air.

Finally, my lethal equipment pick is the Drill Charge to flush enemies out of spots and the tactical choice is the basic Stun Grenade to get some easy kills on players who are affected by it.

As a final note, you can use the .50 GS in the new Modern Warfare 3 and use this same loadout to great effect. It might even bring back some nice memories, as the Desert Eagle on the original MW2 maps should be quite nostalgic for some players.

However, you will need to change most of the rest of the class, as the perks have been entirely changed in the new multiplayer title. You can still use the same lethal or tactical as well as a similar secondary weapon. Of course, I suggest using some of the new content first so you can experience some of the fresh items in MW3.
