Here are the five best Electric-types in Pokémon Sword and Shield, and why they stand out above the rest.

The 5 best Electric Pokémon

5. Raichu

Raichu has actually become a great support Pokémon in The Crown Tundra doubles meta. With the amount of strong Electric Pokémon out there, its Lightning Rod ability makes it a great partner for Water Pokémon like Tapu Fini. Moves like Nuzzle, Eerie Impulse, and Fake Out give it utility to further help its partner.

4. Rotom
Best Electric Pokémon

Rotom is a versatile Pokémon and its Heat and Wash forms are great. Its ability, Levitate, protects it from Ground moves (unless the attacker has Mold Breaker), which helps it immensely as an Electric Pokémon. If you need a balanced Electric option with decent defense and offense, Rotom-Heat and Rotom-Wash are great choices.

3. Zapdos

Zapdos has been around for a long time, and it’s still as good as ever. It’s Electric/Flying combination makes it one of the best Electric Pokémon out there. It isn’t affected by Ground attacks, so it’s only weak to Ice and Rock moves. Zapdos is a good special attacker with some decent coverage with moves like Thunderbolt and Heat Wave.

2. Thundurus

Zapdos was the best Electric/Flying-type out there until Thundurus came along in Generation V. Thundurus is similar to Zapdos, but it is more versatile and has better speed. It can function as a physical attacker or a special attacker, and it offers utility with the move Taunt.

1. Regieleki

Best Electric Pokémon

One of the new additions to the Regi family, Regieleki has become the best Electric Pokémon available in both singles and doubles battles. Its 200 base speed is ridiculous and allows it to move first in just about every matchup, assuming the opponent doesn’t have increased speed. It’s a great special attacker, but it also offers utility with Electroweb, Reflect, and Light Screen.
