The atmosphere has been simply electric at IEM Sydney. Team Liquid defeated MIBR in beautiful style. The crowd was wild as both teams displayed some fantastic skill level. MIBR didn’t go down without a fight, taking the game into overtime. In the end, Liquid were too much for MIBR and took the win 2-0.

Our second final saw Fnatic and NRG grace the stage. Fans were on the edge of their seats and both teams traded wins. Some spectators thought they might even be in for another midnight finish. A quick Twitter poll revealed Fnatic as the favorites to take on Liquid in the finals. Over 2,000 fans voted with 83 percent voting in favor of Fnatic. Fnatic came through the lower bracket to defeat NRG in three matches. All eyes will be on Team Liquid and Fnatic as they show Australia some world class CS:GO. Who do you think will take home the trophy and secure their spot at the World Championships?

Crowd-pleasers

Aussies are known for their vibrant and passionate manner, especially when it comes to esports. Tweets from people all over the world poured in, commenting on the exciting Aussie spirit on display. If anyone was watching, or sitting in the crowd, you’ll know what we’re talking about. It’s electric! Viewers held up signs showing their love for their favorite players, blow up balls were thrown around the arena, and flashy lights kept everyone in sync. And that’s not the only love that flew around the arena. While Liquid, Fnatic, MIBR, and NRG battled it out on stage, love shone through the crowd.

You may think there are more “romantic” places to propose, but not these attendees. A couple of CS:GO fans decided to take the next step in their relationship while at IEM Sydney. “Harry” proposed to his girlfriend during all the day 2 hype. Congrats to the happy couple, and we’re sure there are lots more exciting stuff happening for the final day of IEM Sydney.

Stay tuned for the final results (of the tournament, not the marriage), and watch all the action live on Twitch.
