On Saturday SuperMassive Blaze, one of Turkey’s leading esports teams, announced that they are adding Caner “CyderX” Demir, previously of Kafalar Esports, to their VALORANT roster. This is the first official announcement regarding the roster since the team announced that Batuhan “russ” Malgaç, Melih “pAura” Karaduran and Mehmet “Turko” Ă–zen are allowed to explore their options and have tryouts with other teams.

As this is the first official announcement about the roster, it might be a sign of more news to come. The addition of CyderX, who plays the IGL role, may indicate that one of the three players who are exploring their options is probably not going to re-sign with SuperMassive Blaze. This might not be the case, though, as they may try a six-player roster for 2022. It wouldn’t be the first time someone tried it.
The more likely option is one of pAura, russ and Turko leaving SMB. Due to their great performance in Masters: Berlin and throughout the year, they will probably go to great teams but in esports, you never know. Regardless of where they go, be it another Turkish team, another EMEA team or maybe overseas, hopefully they will have the chance to show their true potential.
Where does this leave SuperMassive Blaze and CyderX? Right now, they have signed a promising new player. For the future? It looks like either someone is going to leave the team, or they will become a six-man roster this year.
