North American organization Immortals have moved Robert “truo” Pham to the inactive roster, multiple sources told Upcomer Aug. 16.
He has not been practicing with the team for the past few days, according to sources. The young duelist will look to field offers in hopes of joining a new team. The announcement for his benching will likely come within the next few days.
Truo, most known for his skill as a duelist, seemingly struggled with several role swaps during his time with Immortals. He played Omen a few times with the roster but usually stayed on agents such as Raze, Reyna and Jett.
Other members of the roster also played duelists, such as Rhett “Kehmicals” Lynch and Andrew “ShoT_UP” Orlowski, however. This could have led to some internal issues with the team since there didn’t seem to be dedicated role players, according to multiple sources.
Immortals recently failed to qualify for the VALORANT Championship Tour Stage 3 Challengers 2. The North American side lost to FaZe Clan during the round of 16. This led to Immortals’ elimination from Challengers 2 contention.
Since the event, Immortals had played with Daniel “Rossy” Abedrabbo. The team managed to secure qualification for the Nerd Street Gamers Summer Championship through the last chance qualifier, following victories against teams such as UYU and NorCal Esports.
The NSG Summer Championships, which operates as a separate circuit to Riot’s VCT, has a $20,000 prize pool and will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 18.
Following the benching of truo, Immortals will continue to field the following roster:
- Rossy
- Kehmicals
- ShoT_UP
- Jonah “JonahP” Pulice
- Amgalan “Genghsta” Nemekhbayar
- Truo (inactive)
