The Kansas City Pioneers have signed Tristan “Critical” Trinacty and will look to finalize a deal to sign Matthew “Wedid” Suchan to their VALORANT roster, multiple sources told Upcomer on Nov. 30.
This will ensure the completion of the Pioneers roster prior to the start of the VALORANT Champions Tour next year. Critical and Wedid will join Noah “jcStani” Smith, Jason “jmoh” Mohandessi and Brady “thief” Dever on the roster.
Both players have played with the Pioneers for almost two months but Critical expressed his interest to explore his options with other teams. He most recently practiced with The Guard but decided to stick with the Kansas City Pioneers.
Pioneers recently finished first in the VALORANT Elite Showdown, which included some high-profile teams such as NRG Esports and Version1. Pioneers defeated Immortals, TSM Academy, Built by Gamers and NRG Esports to face off against the Pittsburgh Knights in the final of the event.
Knights, who recently integrated Joseph “ban” Seungmin Oh into the roster, were defeated by Pioneers 2-1 in the final.
Critical and Wedid were both crucial in the recent success of the Pioneers. Critical finished with the highest average combat score during their match against Knights and had the highest average damage per round out of all players.
Pioneers are ranked as the 15th best team in North America, just below Knights and Built by Gamers, according to VLR.gg.
The team will compete in the upcoming 2022 VALORANT Champions Tour. Pioneers will likely field the following roster:
- jmoh
- Thief
- jcStani
- Critical
- Wedid
- Daniel “fRoD” Montaner (coach)
