Sources: JeongHoon to complete Astralis LEC roster

Astralis have completed their League Of Legends European Championship roster as support Lee “JeongHoon” Jeong-hoon is expected to play for them next split, sources tell Upcomer.

The offseason started early for Astralis as they announced on March 10 the departure of support Hampus Mikael “promisq” Abrahamsson and top laner Matti “WhiteKnight” Sormunen.

Since they, they have acquired top laner Kiss “Vizicsacsi” Tamás, as reported by Upcomer on April 8.

Astralis also parted with jungler Nikolay “Zanzarah” Akatov recently. According to Alejandro Gomis and confirmed by Upcomer sources, jungler Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir is going to be the replacement. This reunites both Vizicsacsi and Xerxe with bot laner Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup. All three of them played together on Splyce in 2019.

Xerxe isn’t the only jungler that Astralis considered. X7 Esports jungler Kang “Haru” Min-seung and Fnatic TQ jungler Magnus “MAXI” Kristensen were also considered for that position.

JeongHoon is going to complete this roster in the support position. Similarly to the jungle position, Astralis had considered many players for that role. Supports Henk “Advienne” Reijenga, Rúben “Rhuckz” Barbosa and Mads “Doss” Schwartz are some examples.

JeongHoon, who joins the team from South Korea, played for Fredit BRION Challengers last year. His team finished in eighth and seventh place for spring and summer respectively in the LCK Challengers League 2021.

Astralis hope the changes in the top lane, jungle and at support help them improve on a 10th-place finish in the LEC spring split.
