Astralis have signed top laner Kiss “Vizicsacsi” Tamás to their League of Legends European Championship team, sources told Upcomer on Friday.

This moves follows the news of Astralis parting ways with their former top laner Matti “WhiteKnight” Sormunen. They also announced a similar change with support position as they parted ways with Hampus Mikael “promisq” Abrahamsson.

Vizicsacsi is a familiar face for long time LEC fans, as the Hungarian top laner played for teams such as Unicorns Of Love, Schalke04 and Splyce. After the 2019 League of Legends World Championship, where Splyce and Vizicsacsi reached top 8, the top laner announced his retirement.

Despite that, he returned to pro play for Worlds 2021, joining PEACE as a substitute player. Then, in 2022, Vizicsacsi signed with Gamers Origin, a team in the Ligue Française de League of Legends. The team managed to reach the playoffs, even after difficult start to the spring split — though they lost in the first round 1-3 against Team BDS Academy.

For this upcoming summer split, Vizicsacsi will be transferred to Astralis in the LEC. It is unknown yet who will replace him in Gamers Origin, a team that is also making a few changes for summer split.

Before signing Vizicsacsi, Astralis had considered several top laners from European Regional Leagues, many of which also had previous LEC experience.
