Golden Guardians will field bot laner Trevor “Stixxay” Hayes in their League of Legends Championship Series roster, sources told Upcomer on Tuesday. Additionally, mid laner Adam “LIDER” Ilyasov has signed with the North American organization and will play on their academy team.
Stixxay will replace bot laner Lawrence “Lost” Sze Yuy Hui who is heading to Immortals, as reported by Upcomer. This follows a fifth-sixth place finish in the LCS for the Golden Guardians main team. However, Stixxay isn’t new to the, as he started this spring split as bot laner for Golden Guardians Academy. He then ended up moving to a coaching position for the main team in March. As a consequence, bot laner Vincent “Violet” Wong took his position. Golden Guardians Academy finished third place this spring.
The academy team of Golden Guardians will also see changes this summer split. LIDER has signed with the organization already, replacing mid laner Tommy “ry0ma” Le. LIDER had a busy offseason. as he initially planned to join KOI in the SuperLiga.
Can LIDER be promoted to the main team?
With jungler Milo “Pridestalker” Wehnes and Kim “Olleh” Joo-sung fill up the two import slots of Golden Guardians main team, it is not impossible for LIDER to eventually gets promoted. This is because Olleh is currently in the process of acquiring his green card, per sources. If he gets his green card, Olleh would become a resident in the North American Region, freeing up the opportunity for LIDER to start.
However, it is important to note that this isn’t a specific situation for LIDER, as any player of the Golden Guardians academy squad could be promoted in the future. Nicholas Antonio “Ablazeolive” Abbott is currently the mid laner of the main team.
