Saebyeolbe and Anamo sign to Seoul Dynasty

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

After a pause for American Thanksgiving, more Overwatch League news has finally popped up. The Seoul Dynasty has signed Jong-ryeol “Saebyeolbe” Park and Taesung “Anamo” Jung, formerly of the New York Excelsior. These Korean players were surprisingly released earlier this off-season, but fans expected them to get signed. Finally, they have a home.

Saebyeolbe and Anamo’s past

For those who don’t know, most of these players’ pasts were on Overwatch League team New York Excelsior. While they did start in Korea on different teams, these two veterans played together ever since the inaugural season. In Saebyeolbe’s case, he was the team captain and heartbeat of the team. In Anamo’s case, he was the replacement for Ark when he left and filled that role perfectly. However, after their successful first season, the team never truly improved. Saebyeolbe was relegated to the bench for most of the second season, while Anamo was shuffled around constantly. Both players didn’t get their fair chance in the league for that season.

However, the third season came along. Unfortunately, with the metas that were present, Saebyeolbe was benched again despite his experience. While Anamo got significant playing time, the team again disappointed. After the pandemic caused the team to break apart, NYXL released most their roster. Everyone knew both players had the chance to perform again in the league, but the risk was there. Saebyeolbe is a veteran, but he hasn’t played much over the past two seasons. Anamo, even though he played more, didn’t impress much either.

Can Seoul make the stars shine?

For these two players it is simple. Can you get the best out of them again? Both have the opportunity for bounce-back seasons. Plus, adding the former team captain of the NYXL onto your young Seoul roster will improve the teamwork outside of the game. NYXL always had teamwork, especially with these two additions. Seoul adding that as well as a reliable support is a huge win if you can let them do what they do best. Let Saebyeolbe be the Seoul Dynasty specialist captain while Anamo can be your support whenever needed. With the new Dynasty squad, we’ll have to wait and see if it works out.
