Rogue is coming off of a week where they were able to pick up their first win of the season. Although it was against a falling Misfits Gaming, a win is a win. They still don’t look great against other teams, and they have plenty of problems across their roster. However, maybe this win was what the team needed to get the ball rolling for the second half of the Spring Split. Don’t hold your breath though, because they still lost against Schalke 04.

Meanwhile, EXCEL Esports has been looking relatively weak these past few weeks. As we’ve said before, they were coming into week six with five losses in a row. Early in the Spring Split, they were able to keep many of their games close with some decent early gameplay. However, it looks like their inexperienced roster still needs some time to gel and build synergy. It was a battle between bottom teams, but someone had to come out on top.

Rogue manages to win against EXCEL

This game was almost hard to watch from a fan’s perspective. Rogue started off with a decent early game, taking three dragons and three turrets by 20 minutes. They also had about a 2.4K gold lead over EXCEL Esports. Five minutes later, Rogue took full control over the game with a great teamfight and Baron soon after. Many thought that Rogue would take the game easily, but could you imagine that this matchup would see two more Barons and two elder dragons?

That’s exactly what would happen. Rogue did not take into consideration Ki “Expect” Dae-han’s Yorick, who had picked up a kill onto Finn “Finn” WiestÃ¥l earlier in the game. Expect would become a late game juggernaut for EXCEL Esports as a result of great farming and side control. That, combined with some really questionable play from Martin “HeaQ” Kordmaa and Chres “Sencux” Laursen, would push this game to an incredible 43 minutes. It would take Rogue another Baron and two elder dragons in order to lock down EXCEL and take the win. However, I don’t think anyone won that game in reality.

Final Thoughts

For EXCEL, this is another big step back as they look towards the rest of the LEC Spring Split. They haven’t found any success in the past few weeks now, and they have a game against G2 Esports coming up tomorrow. We probably know what is going to be the outcome of that game, so it’ll be another tough week for EXCEL to head back to the drawing board with.

Meanwhile, Rogue picks up their second win in a row! However, they’ve been some of the worst matches we’ve seen in some time in the European scene. Even still, we are sure that Rogue will take whatever wins they can, in order to keep pushing forward through their first season in the LEC. This team still has a ton of problems that they need to address, as they could have thrown this game at any time. We will see if they can take down Splyce tomorrow.
