Day one of RLCS 8, the Rocket League Championship Series – Season 8, has come to an end. We saw many unexpected results, plus some others that will now lead to exciting fixtures later into the event.

Recommended Videos

Group B

Things began in Group B with a very dominant and positive start from Dignitas. They were happy with just qualifying for RLCS 8 LAN, but not content to stop there. Dignitas won their first game against The Three Sins (3-0) and later Pittsburgh Knights (3-2), securing their day 3 slot in the upper bracket.

Rocket League RLCS 8 Lan Madrid

The LAN debutant’s Spacestation Gaming then qualified for their day 3 slot too, sweeping Canberra Havoc (3-0) and taking down the European number one seeds Team Reciprocity (3-1).

Group A

Over in Group A, Lowkey Esports won their first series against Veloce Esports, (3-1) which marked the first South American (SAM) Rocket League team to win a series in RLCS for their region. Unfortunately, but to be expected, they would later fall to NRG (3-0), who is now qualified for day 3.

Later into the night, LAN debutants eUnited took their first series against Renegades (3-1). This forwarded them to play against the defending world champions of Renault Vitality. RV was able to shut down eUnited (3-1) in order to secure their own day 3 slot.

Upcoming Action

After the results of day one, we have NRG, RV, Dignitas, and SpaceStation Gaming secured for Day 3. We now have the RLCS 4, 5, and 6 Team Dignitas roster – Pierre “Turbopolsa” Silfver, Alex “Kaydop” Courant, and Jos “ViolentPanda” van Meurs – all ready to take a shot at the world championship title in each of their new teams.

Daily Esports also had an exclusive interview with Josh Watson, the senior manager of Rocket League Esports at Psyonix. Stay tuned for more RLCS 8 team interviews and results from day 2 and 3. If you aren’t attending RLCS 8 at the Palacio Vistalegre arena in Madrid, then you can catch all of the action live on the Rocket League Twitch channel all weekend.
