Riddles dropped a game to Erem “Ryn” E. in his very first set, where he played both Terry and Wolf. However, his performance turned dominant from there, as he did not drop another game until Winners Finals. On the way to top 8, Riddles beat “RatedRudy,” Chris “Lights” B., Joel “Beast” Veras, and Gabriel “Epic_Gabriel” Romero.

Riddles kept up the pace in top 8, defeating Brian “Benny&thejets” Navarro 3-0. However, he lost 2-3 to Edgar “Sparg0” Valdez in Winners Finals, a repeat from their set at Epic_Tournament. Despite this setback, Riddles bounced back strong in losers. He beat Spencer “BestNess” Garner 3-2 and reset the bracket against Sparg0 with a 3-0 win. Riddles triumphed over Sparg0 3-2 in the second set of Grand Finals to win The Cosmic Kerfuffle.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Riddles has performed exceptionally well at online Super Smash Bros. Ultimate events. Currently, he is ranked No. 20 on the WWRv4. However, The Cosmic Kerfuffle marked Riddles’ first 1st place finish at a significant online tournament.

Other results from The Cosmic Kerfuffle

After a slight underperformance at Epic_Tournament, Aaron Wilhite returned with another strong showing at The Cosmic Kerfuffle. He defeated Jeffrey “ATATA” Solberg, Tanner “SKITTLES!!” Jordan, Carlos “Sonix” Pérez, and Epic_Gabriel en route to 4th place. Meanwhile, he had respectable losses to Sparg0 and BestNess. Aaron has cemented himself as one of the fastest-rising up-and-comers in Smash Ultimate’s online scene.

Benny&thejets earned multiple impressive, hard-fought victories on his path to 5th place at this event. In top 64, he earned 2-1 wins over Andrew “AndrewT” Thomas, Gavin “Tweek” Dempsey, and Myles “MiLe” McKenzie. However, Benny&thejets ultimately suffered 0-3 losses to both Riddles and BestNess in top 8.

MiLe also had a stellar and unexpected run to top 8 at The Cosmic Kerfuffle. He beat Cameron “Vendetta” Garrett, Luis “Lui$” Oceguera, and Angel Nunez before losing to Benny&thejets. Then, MiLe beat Benji “Loaf” Rust before falling to Epic_Gabriel for 7th place.
