Hong Kong-based team PSG Talon has shared a roster update with fans regarding their participation in the 2020 Worlds Championship. Due to complications regarding travel restrictions and visa requirements, they have substituted two of their main players until after the Play-Ins stage.
The team shared the unfortunate news on their official Twitter account, apologizing for the overall lack of communication to fans. “We had been busy working closely with Riot and the travel authorities to determine the necessary travel arrangements given the diverse nationalities of our squad.”

The note then moved on to state that travel has been an issue in their starting line-up. Unfortunately, PSG’s Jungler Kim “River” Dan-woo and Mid-Laner Park “Tank” Dan-won won’t be able to participate in Play-Ins. Both players are traveling from South Korea and will stay in quarantine through the Play-Ins time frame. Both players will be replaced by AHQ eSports Club’s Mid-Laner Chen “Uniboy” Chang-Chu and AHQ’s Jungler Hsiao “Kongyue” Jen-Tso. Additionally, they will be borrowing Machi Esport’s Bot-Laner Chen “Dee” Chun-Dee as a substitute for PSG’s Bot-Laner Wong “Unified” Chun Kit. Dee will miss part of Play-Ins due to the same travel complications as River and Tank.
AHQ will not participate in Worlds this year. Machi Esports will attend the series as part of in Group A, along with G2 Esports and Suning.
PSG’s substitutes will play through Play-Ins until they make it to Groups. If the team gets that far, then the original players will go back to playing their roles.

COVID-19 travel restrictions
Travel complications have been a common issue for many teams. The Vietnamese teams are unfortunately not attending Worlds this year due to travel restrictions, prompting a sudden format changes. All players are also instructed to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival to China. This means that the teams needed plenty of time to travel and get ready before the start of the games.
