Pokémon Home has been live for over a week now, and players have discovered several ways to obtain free Pokémon. Here’s a look at the free creatures available within the app, as well as how to get them.
Pikachu
Players can get this iconic Pokémon simply by opening the app on mobile or Nintendo Switch. Pikachu will be level 5 with a random nature, Static as its ability, and the moves Thundershock, Tail Whip, Growl, and Quick Attack. It will be in the first slot of the first box.
Pichu
To get Pichu, players need to complete a challenge in the Pokémon Home mobile app and earn a sticker. They can then put the sticker in their profile to earn Pichu. It will be level 5 with Static as its ability and Thundershock and Tail Whip as its moves.
Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle
Players can choose between one of the original Kanto starters when they first open the Pokémon Home app on mobile. The chosen Pokémon will have its Hidden Ability and will be transferrable to Pokémon Sword and Shield. Charizard can already be used competitively in the games, and Venusaur and Blastoise will become available for use in March.
Rotom
Players can earn Rotom by completing a trade in the GTS on mobile. Rotom is a solid competitive Pokémon in Pokémon Sword and Shield, so make sure to snag this one, as it’s hard to find in the games. Rotom will be level 5 with a random nature and the ability Levitate.
Eevee
Eevee is a reward for players who complete a wonder trade on mobile. This Eevee isn’t very valuable because it doesn’t have its Hidden Ability or anything special. Nevertheless, it’s a free Pokémon for those interested.
Special Magearna
A special Original Color Magearna can be earned by completing the National Pokédex in Pokémon Home. Players must store every single Pokémon in the app to get this. It will be level 50 with the Soul-Heart ability, a Mild Nature, and the moves Fleur Cannon, Flash Cannon, Defense Curl, and Rest.
As of right now, it looks like these free Pokémon will only be available until a month from the day Pokémon Home was released. Be sure to stay up to date for more on Pokémon Home and other related stories.
