Niantic just revealed an exciting new format for Pokémon GO‘s GO Battle League called the Love Cup that begins on Feb. 8 and goes to Feb. 15.
The Love Cup is a special format to celebrate Valentine’s Day. To participate, players can only use pink or red Pokémon under 1,500 Combat Power (CP). Players cannot use any Legendary or Mythical Pokémon even if they do meet the credentials. Players will be eligible to climb and earn rewards as usual during the event.
Legal Pokémon for Pokémon GO‘s Love Cup
Niantic specifies that the following Pokémon will be legal for the event:
Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Vileplume, Paras, Parasect, Krabby, Kingler, Voltorb, Electrode, Goldeen, Seaking, Jynx, Magmar, Magikarp, Flareon, Ledyba, Ledian, Ariados, Yanma, Scizor, Slugma, Magcargo, Octillery, Delibird, Porygon2, Magby, Torchic, Combusken, Blaziken, Wurmple, Medicham, Carvanha, Camerupt, Solrock, Corphish, Crawdaunt, Kricketot, Kricketune, Trash Cloak Burmy, Trash Cloak Wormadam, Magmortar, Porygon-Z, Wash Rotom, Tepig, Pignite, Emboar, Pansear, Simisear, Throh, Venipede, Scolipede, Krookodile, Darumaka, Darmanitan, Dwebble, Crustle, Autumn Form Deerling, Spring Form Deerling, Shelmet, Accelgor, Pawniard, Bisharp, Braviary, Heatmor, Fennekin, Braixen, Delphox, Fletchling, Fletchinder, Talonflame, Clefairy, Clefable, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, Slowpoke, Slowbro, Exeggcute, Lickitung, Happiny, Chansey, Mr. Mime, Mime Jr., Porygon, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Flaaffy, Hoppip, Slowking, Snubbull, Corsola, Smoochum, Miltank, Blissey, Whismur, Skitty, Milotic, Gorebyss, Luvdisc, Cherubi, Sunny Form Cherrim, Lickilicky, Audino, Alomomola, and Scrafty. Please note that Galarian Mr. Mime, Galarian Darumaka, and Galarian Darmanitan are not eligible.
Players will have plenty of options to choose from here, even if there isn’t as much variety as usual. Since the format is new, there will be plenty of experimentation going on.
