Here’s what we know about the new challenges, and how you can get started on the first one.

Pokémon GO Collection Challenges

Collection Challenges will require you to collect a certain set of Pokémon appearing during a live event. Upon catching all of these Pokémon, you will earn a reward and your progress will go towards a special Elite Collector Medal.

The Collection Challenge will change with specific events. This means that you will have a limited time to do each one, so make sure to take note of how long they last. You can find the current challenge in the “today” section of the quest tab. It will tell you what Pokémon you need to catch here along with how long you have to catch them.

How to complete the first challenge

The first Pokémon GO Collection Challenge is for the Unova portion of the Kanto Tour and you can begin completing it now. It tasks you with collecting the following Pokémon from the Unova region:

  • Snivy
  • Tepig
  • Oshawatt
  • Lillipup
  • Herdier
  • Blitzle
  • Roggenrola
  • Solosis
  • Ferroseed

If you get all of the Pokémon and complete the Collection Challenge, you will get a reward consisting of 3,000 Stardust, 30 Poké Balls, and five Rare Candy. You will be able to find these Pokémon in the wild and in eggs during the Unova event, so be sure to keep an eye out for them.

The first Collection Challenge will end on January 10, 2021. Make sure to get out there and catch all of them to reap the rewards by then! Be sure to stay tuned for more Pokémon news and stories with us to get all the latest from the franchise.
