To find these Pokémon, you need to search for Max Raid Dens with a red beam of light. Here are all the different Pokémon you can catch during the event, and how to bring down Lapras and Centiscorch.

Pokémon appearing in Max Raid Battles

Ice-Types:

  • Lapras
  • Weavile
  • Avalugg

Fire-Types:

  • Centiscorch
  • Rapidash
  • Turtonator

Lapras Encounters

Lapras is an Ice/Water-type, which means it’s weak to Fighting, Rock, and Electric-type moves. To counter it, you want to take a Pokémon with a strong move from any of these types. You can also go with Zacian or Zamazenta since their anti-Dynamax attacks will inflict massive damage to Lapras. Both of these Legendary Pokémon are also Steel-type, so they will resist Lapras’ G-Max Resonance attack.

Since G-Max Resonance will give Lapras a barrier that reduces the damage it takes, we suggest you take the move Brick Break. This will get rid of the Aurora Veil and inflict super-effective damage. Counters other than Zacian and Zamazenta include:

  • Keldeo
  • Pangoro
  • Scrafty
  • Cobalion
  • Machamp
  • Zeraora
  • Toxtricity
  • Electivire
  • Magnezone

Centiscorch Encounters

As a Bug/Fire-type, Centiscorch has a 4x weakness to Rock-type attacks. Rock also resists Fire-type moves, so this makes it the perfect option against Centiscorch. Stone Edge and Rock Slide are great Rock-type attacks to use. Here are some of the best Rock-type Pokémon you can choose from:

  • Terrakion
  • Nihilego
  • Rhyperior
  • Tyranitar
  • Gigalith
  • Coalossal

Lapras, Centiscorch, and the others will be in raids until December 31 at 3:59 PM PT. Be sure to hop on and catch one while you can, otherwise, you will have a very low chance of finding one.
