OWL All-Star event lineup finally complete with reserve players announced

Some time ago, Blizzard revealed the starting lineups for the Overwatch League 2019 All-Star event. Now, with less than a week left until the beginning of the festivities, they have gone on to announce the reserve players for the OWL All-Star Weekend as well.

This announcement completes both the Atlantic and Pacific divisions’ lineups. Initially, fans voted for their 12 favorite players, who will fulfill the role of starters for their respective teams. This new wave of players, however, has been cautiously elected by Overwatch League staff members, players, and coaches.

These 24 total reserve players will represent their divisions in a variety of ways. Most probably, they will perform in the All-Star event’s various custom skill matches. The rule set, however, tells us that they will also sub in for their team’s main roster during the All-Star game itself.

This year, the custom skill matches range from the famous Widowmaker 1v1 tournament all the way to a Talent Takedown. In the latter, OWL talent will face up against each other in teams drafted by the coaches from each division. The most important part of the event, however, will take place during the second day.

The Atlantic and Pacific Divisions will finally compete in the first-to-four series that will decide which half of the league is truly dominant. All players will have to play at least one game throughout the series. They may not be fan favorites, but there are certainly a few players to be excited about within the reserve pool.

Coming from the Pacific side, for instance, Park “Viol2t” Min-ki and Matthew “super” DeLisi from the Shock have just completed the first ever perfect stage in the history of Overwatch League. Ready to defeat them, 2018 OWL champions Hong “Gesture” Jae-hee, Park “Profit” Joon-yeong, and Kim “Fury” Jun-ho from the Spitfire will definitely be tough opposition to go up against.

The OWL All-Star event will play out on May 15 at 8 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on Twitch, ESPN2, and the Overwatch League official web page. The following is the list of all the reserve players who will be taking part in the games.
