The events
The weekend will begin with the Opening Weekend Student Night, which will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. EST on February 7. This event will help students meet others interested in esports, as well as industry professionals while gaming. This will be a good opportunity for students hoping to get into the esports industry.
The second event of the opening night is the Pre-Party, which begins at 9 p.m. EST and ends at 1 a.m. Retired Overwatch League pro Do-Hyeon “Pine” Kim is hosting the pre-party. There will be PCs, a bar, and drinks for guests.
On February 8 at 8 p.m., the festivities continue with the NYXL After Party. Pine will also host this event at Versa, and it will include a bar and karaoke. Fans can celebrate the games with drinks and music.
The final event of the XL Weekend is the Bingo Brunch, which will also take place at Versa. The brunch will be on February 9 at 9:30 a.m. It will be an all-you-can-eat- breakfast with NYXL themed bingo. Winners will win NYXL gear.
Each one of these events requires a separate ticket or registration. Each event will also have limited attendee capacity and will be first-come, first-serve. Tickets can be purchased on the XL Weekend’s official site.
This should be a fun event for New York Excelsior fans and Overwatch League fans alike. Festivities like this are always a great way to get fans involved with their favorite teams. It will be cool to see if other Overwatch League teams do this on their Homestand Weekends.
