This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

BlizzCon 2018 has kicked off and Blizzard is already off to the races with an announcement for Heroes of the Storm. In the BlizzCon Opening Ceremony, we got a look at a fresh new character for the game: Orphea, Daughter of the Raven Lord. Orphea is coming to Heroes of the Storm immediately. It’s even sweeter for any fans who got in on the BlizzCon virtual ticket. Orphea will be immediately playable for free to all virtual ticket holders.

Orphea was offered via a gothic little cinematic trailer on November 2, 2018. The Heroes of the Storm trailer showcases some animosity between her and the Raven Lord himself. It doesn’t take long before the two end up in a full on fight. Though the trailer is fully cinematic, it gives us a glimpse of what Orphea’s abilities might be in the game. You can catch a full look of the trailer shown off at BlizzCon just below.

Orphea carries a rather heavy looking relic on her back. It’s not a clothes dresser. The Daughter of the Raven Lord seems to house dark magical energy in the relic and a deadly looking toothy spirit. She’s no slouch herself, showing a glimpse of the power she inherited from her father. As he angers Orphea, her eyes turn red and she threatens to let loose a devastating blow upon him that he only narrowly avoids as she hits the ground with an explosive blast of dark energy. Whatever she’s going to be, we’re leaning towards a caster with access to that spirit in her relic and maybe some energy embued attacks of her own.

Players that attended BlizzCon 2018 or invested in a Virtual Ticket will be able to enjoy Orphea for free once she releases in Heroes of the Storm. Orphea doesn’t have a release date just yet, but she’s expected to launch sometime in 2019.
