Although OpTic Gaming has undergone some changes in the past few months, they are still a Call of Duty team. Through Immortals Gaming Club, they purchased one of two Los Angeles spots for the 2020 Call of Duty League. Going under the name OpTic Gaming Los Angeles, the team announced their starting roster earlier today. While an adjustment period might be necessary for fans of the organization, OpTic seems to have put together a solid lineup for 2020. How this affects their status in the community is still up in the air.
OGLA announces its roster for 2020
There’s no secret as to how many fans feel about the current OpTic Gaming team. While some old faces remain, the organization will never be the same without its Owner, Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez. H3CZ’s move to NRG sparked many of OpTic’s old fans to follow suit.
However, through all of this, OpTic remains in the esport that it started with, Call of Duty. New management or not, it would have been weird for the Call of Duty League to start without OpTic’s name and logo in it.
All that said, here is the official starting roster for OpTic Gaming Los Angeles:
- Brandon “Dashy” Otell
- TJ “TJHaly” Haly
- Jordan “Jkap” Kaplan
- Austin “Slasher” Liddicoat
- Kenny “Kenny” Williams

On paper, this lineup stacks up with any other roster in the CDL. It has firepower, leadership, experience, and solid roles in place. How this will translate to performance is yet to be seen.
Both Dashy and TJHaly are part of the old OpTic regime, having played on the team last season. They remain a lethal duo, as Dashy is a top Assault Rifle player and TJHaly is a solid Submachine Gun slayer. Having teamed together for over a year, the chemistry should be strong between these two young guns.
As for the rest of the roster, both Slasher and Kenny teamed together on 100 Thieves last year. Slasher is arguably the best AR in the game, alongside Dashy and Sam “Octane” Larew. Having him and Dashy on the same roster could result in some insane slaying power.
I’m super excited to be representing the city of Los Angeles and @OpTicGaming for the 2020 CDL season. We’re not worrying about the past, but instead focusing on the future and what we can accomplish. Looking forward to working and improving with these guys everyday. pic.twitter.com/WnX4BT9WwA

Kenny had a rough start to last season but finished as a top 5 SMG player. He and TJHaly could be a very strong duo in Modern Warfare. Last, we have Jkap, who is known more for his leadership and experience than for his statistics. Jkap has been a part of numerous championship teams across multiple titles.
Given the right chemistry, this team could prove to be championship-caliber. However, it’s all about how they gel together in the Call of Duty League.
