OG, the team who took out the biggest Dota 2 title in the world, is coming to down under. The AMD Dota 2 Pro Series yesterday added OG to their lineup. OG will be joining Mineski as the second international invite. The tournament is set to run at the Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre in December.

Fresh from the back of the their TI8 win, OG were known as the “Cinderella Story.” Their long road through the Open and Regional Qualifiers eventually landed them in Group A. Playing alongside Team Liquid, PSG.LGD, and Mineski, OG were coming in as the underdogs. Having had a rough time in the group stage, they ended up in the bottom bracket. The team pulled together and finished fourth in their group, earning them a spot in the Upper Bracket for the Main Event. They were still the underdogs but played their way through to the  Grand Finals. The Final, played against PSG.LGD, saw OG defeat them in a five-match showdown.

It’s exciting for Aussies and Dota fans to see such a prestigious team coming to Australia.

OG to join international talent

The AMD Dota 2 Pro Series is set to feature an exciting talent lineup, starring SirActionSlacks and GoDz as stage host and caster respectively. David “r1sk” Arnous will be joining GoDz at the casting desk. So far, it’s a fantastic pool of talent coming to Melbourne. R1sk is also a previous Dota player himself. More details about the tournament will be coming soon.

In the meantime, secure your ticket to watch OG and Mineski live by heading to the event website. If you’re not going to be in Melbourne, watch all the action live on Twitch. Either way, you don’t want to miss this epic competition. The winner takes a share of the AU$50,000 prize pool.

[Disclaimer: The author will be joining SirActionSlacks on stage as the co-host. I’m humbled to be working alongside such an all-star lineup.]
