Octane forced to apologize for harsh tweets to CDL

Seattle Surge’s star player Sam “Octane” Larew has apologized for his comments following the London Royal Ravens home series. Octane took to both Twitter and YouTube to express his frustrations with the Call of Duty League after losing a series in a 4 versus 5. His since-deleted tweets showed that the player had lost all respect for those running the league. These comments came after the Seattle Surge faced several unfortunate situations thanks to the Call of Duty League. Now that the London Royal Ravens home series has concluded, it appears that Octane was forced to apologize for his harsh comments.  

I want to take the time to apologize for the way I reacted after our series against London. The circumstances got the best of me and I reacted in the heat of the moment in a way I shouldn't have. Moving forward I'll try and represent myself in a more professional manner.

Octane’s apology sounds too professional and forced him to have written it himself. It has also been speculated that Octane was fined heavily after his comments by the CDL. The CDL has become known for fining players who openly bash the league or the game in the past. Seattle Surge’s head coach, Joey “Nubzy” DiGiacomo has also issued an apology for how the team handled the situation as a whole. Octane has since replied to the tweet with what looks to be an unsurprised gif. It appears that the Tweet from Nubzy was enforced by the league as well.

Octane gains a response

Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat responded multiple times to Octane’s seemingly forced apology. He too has faced multiple league issues this year on his team Optic Gaming Los Angeles. SlasheR has also been one of the players, like Octane, who has been vocal on social media. He has reported poor rulings as well as several server related issues. SlasheR teamed with Octane last year during Black Ops 4 on 100 Thieves. Since the franchising, both players have faced a multitude of issues and lack of success. SlasheR also recently revealed that he may temporarily retire if the league is online next season.
