Nightmare Prime War bug – Once Human News

Update: Mewfassah Gaming kindly reached out to us with the exact issue and the solution to this problem. Essentially the issue is that any players around the restrainer may be targeted by the Manibus, which will 1-hit the restrainer. The solution is to not teleport into the battle, but to walk all the way and then stay away from the restrainer. Plus, whoever starts the prime war needs to get away from the restrainer, fast.

Update # 2: We have tested this extensively on our server, and we can’t manage to complete Shadowfall or Lost Oasis. This is almost certainly a bug. Dry Valley is the only Nightmare Prime War that can currently be completed.

Players have taken to Discord and other popular discussion apps to voice their frustration on the new phase’s Nightmare Prime War Mode, which typically ends by defeat in about two minutes. As an avid player of Once Human, I’ve seen it with my own eyes.

Once Human is a horror survival gem from Starry Studios and has provided players with countless hours of entertainment so far. The game runs in phases, with new content and areas locked behind a timed phase. Each new phase has generally been met with excitement as players take to the new areas and enjoy more of this outstanding game.

This time, however, it’s different. As many have mentioned in online discussions all over, it pretty much seems as though at least two of the new Nightmare Prime Wars are bugged. Players prepare for the event, build strong defenses, and then start the war at the Staroid Restrainer, which is meant to be protected.

About two minutes into the event, something (there’s debate on what) destroys the defenses along with the Staroid Restrainer, and it all ends in defeat.

I’ve been to two of these events. In one case, it seemed to be a rogue Ravenous Hunter which was the cause, which is one of the bosses that spawn at the Nightmare Pro War. In another, it seems as though the Manibus or the Shadow Hound was to blame (more Prime War bosses).

Given the time it takes to prepare for one of these events, losing so quickly is a real let-down for players.

We managed to defeat the Dry Valley Nightmare Prime War this morning, but all attempts at the others have been unsuccessful, and it seems as though our server is not the only one. If it were due to player error or a lack of resources, that would be understandable, but in this case it seems to be some sort of bug that makes the bosses heavily overpowered, and the event impossible.

Thus far, there has been no response or announcement from Once Human staff, so as we await word, we can only assume that these events need to be fixed before we can realistically spend in-game resources on what appears to be a losing battle at present.

It could be that there is some sort of trick players aren’t currently seeing. Whatever the case, make sure you don’t go into your next Nightmare Prime War under prepared.
