It seems players have picked their top submachine gun in Call of Duty: Vanguard, and it’s the MP40. This isn’t a surprise to players who have used an MP40 loadout previous World War II CoD titles and it’s now true of Vanguard. The MP40 consistently ends up being one of the best guns in most WWII Call of Duty games. However, in Vanguard, the MP40 has met the Gunsmith system and players aren’t too sure what to equip with it.
At its core, the MP40 is a solid weapon that can be used to run and gun or deal damage at range. If players throw certain attachments on it, though, they can turn it into more of a jack-of-all-trades weapon. Below, fans can see what the best MP40 loadout in Vanguard looks like.
Best MP40 loadout in Call of Duty: Vanguard
The loadout below is recommended by Call of Duty professional and former world champion Chris “Parasite” Duarte. He’s been grinding the beta and has discovered some powerful loadouts for the game’s top weapons, including the STG44.
Parasite has crafted this MP40 loadout to be great at range, but also to make sure it doesn’t lose its close-range prowess.
- Muzzle: No. 3 Rifle Brake
- Underbarrel: M1930 Madson
- Ammo Type: Subsonic
- Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape
- Proficiency: Brace
- Kit: Reach
As players will note, there are several attachment slots missing from this MP40 loadout, as CoD: Vanguard allows 10 slots. This is because the weapon doesn’t need any extra attachments that could negatively affect it in key areas. For example, the barrels on the MP40 severely reduce its abilities in close-range gunfights, which isn’t ideal for an SMG.
The attachments that are in place allow the MP40 to improve its accuracy, recoil control and keep it stealthy with the Subsonic rounds. While some extra attachments could make the MP40 a great gun in specific areas, this loadout will keep it balanced in CoD: Vanguard.
