This is certainly the week for Twitch streamers and Call of Duty. Alongside the recently announced CODE Bowl, Activision will be holding the Modern Warfare Streamer Invitational tomorrow on Dec 10. Featuring 20 streamers and a $250,000 prize pool, this event will see some of the top Twitch streamers battle it out live. There will be four teams of five, with each streamer hand-picked by Activision.
Currently, we have no details on how the event will work in terms of a bracket, gameplay, etc. We can take an educated guess, however, and assume Search and Destroy will be the main mode played. You can watch the Streamer Invitational on the Call of Duty Twitch channel at 4:00 p.m. PT.
The Streamer Invitational
As mentioned, Activision will hold two separate events this week. The Streamer Invitational takes place tomorrow, while the CODE Bowl benefitting the Call of Duty Endowment happens on Dec 13. Both events will be streamed to the Call of Duty Twitch channel.
It seems Activision has picked a side in the ongoing streamer wars, as their two upcoming events only feature Twitch streamers. While we know the personalities for the CODE Bowl, we don’t currently know all of the streamers for the Streamer Invitational. So far, the only team announced has been one featuring some Fortnite and Apex Legends players.
However, we do happen to know who won’t be making an appearance. Moments after the event was announced, several Call of Duty professionals tweeted out their frustration with not being invited. It appears that Activision chose to invite more high-profile streamers than current professional players.
"20 hand-picked Twitch streamers" – seems like they are all picked already.

Like 2 cod streamers and 18 fortnite streamers

While this is an unfortunate circumstance for actual Call of Duty players, the event does shine a brighter light on Modern Warfare, which is something the game needs. Call of Duty pros will get their shot at some competitive play when the Call of Duty League kicks off on Jan 24, 2020.
