Enrique “Maister” Hernández Solís won Smash Ultimate Singles at Combo Breaker 2019 on May 26. Maister made it to Grand Finals on winners side, beating Enrique “Kain” Villaroel, Eric “ESAM” Lew, and Yatiyaña “yeti” Schaper. He lost to yeti in the first game of the five-part set of Grands, but he soon turned things around. Maister went on to overcome yeti 3-1 in the second set in order to win the tournament.
Combo Breaker is an ongoing FGC tournament in St. Charles, Illinois, and Maister notably won the Smash 4 event at Combo Breaker 2018. His back-to-back Combo Breaker victories are especially impressive since he plays Mr. Game & Watch, a character considered low- to mid-tier in both games.
