London Ravens place Rated on the bench for former CDL amateur Nastiee

Just a day after the announcement that the Call of Duty League is moving to online, London has made a roster change. The Royal Ravens have reportedly considered a switch for weeks now, following their rocky performance in Atlanta last month. It’s now official, though, as London has benched one of its veteran players in Rhys “Rated” Price. The Wales native has been struggling in the CDL thus far, and the Royal Ravens clearly felt he was the weak point. Joining the starting roster in place of him is former amateur Byron “Nastiee” Plumridge.

London swaps a veteran for an amateur

Earlier this week, we cited that the Royal Ravens were one of the most likely teams to make a roster move. Of course, this was before the COVID-19 virus canceled every CDL homestand in 2020. That said, this change likely would have occurred either way.

After a stellar performance at their home event, London fell off in a major way in Atlanta. They only managed to secure one win and were thoroughly outclassed on several maps. They didn’t compete in L.A. this past weekend, though, giving them time to find a suitable replacement for Rated.

Earlier today, London announced they’ve found such a replacement in former amateur Nastiee. Really making a name for himself in Modern Warfare, Nastiee is fresh off a CDL Challengers win in Paris with Team WaR. He also placed second with TrainHard Esports at the Challengers event in London, making him a hot commodity.

Although Nastiee is an up-and-coming player, the Royal Ravens already have two substitutes on the bench. One would think that either Dylan ‘MadCat’ Daly and Sean ‘Seany’ O’Connor would’ve been given a chance first. However, London clearly feels the amateur gives them a better chance to compete online.
