Legends of Runeterra’s Cosmic Creation spoiler hints to next champion

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Spoiler season for the latest expansion for Riot Game’s digital card game, Legends of Runeterra has begun. Cosmic Creation, the final expansion of the Call of the Mountain features a new mechanic and at least three new champions. While Cosmic Creation will only add 40 new cards to the game, it will focus on the Noxus, Targon, and Piltover & Zaun regions.

The first card spoiled for Cosmic Creation is Mechanized Mimic. An Epic card from the Piltover & Zaun region with the new keyword ability “Augment.” This ability reads “when you play a created card, grant me +1/+0.” Mechanized Mimic seems like a solid card but might not see a lot of play despite its Epic rarity. Attacking gives it all the keyword abilities on other cards its owner controls but that means it is dependent on a diverse board state. Mechanized Mimic would work best in an Elusive based deck, with plenty of ways of creating spells and sneaking in unblockable damage.

Other spoilers released for Cosmic Creation complement the Mimic and the Augment ability. The burst spell Calculated Creations only costs two mana but creates one of three cards. The two follower cards created by Calculated Creations have either Quick Attack or Elusive, making them the perfect partner for the Mimic.

Legends of Runeterra also appears to have confirmed that Viktor is the next champion for Piltover & Zaun with the card Aftershock. In the artwork of the card, Viktor’s signature robot arm laser is shown casting Viktor’s Death Ray ability.

Who are the remaining champions coming to Legends of Runeterra?

Based on the data mined from Legends of Runeterra  audio files, fans have had hints at who the remaining champions are. Zoe from Targon and Riven from Noxus are still waiting for a reveal from Riot Games.

Cosmic Creation will release on December 16 at 2 PM ET and will wrap up the Call of the Mountain expansion. Make sure to follow Daily Esports as more of the set is revealed.
