Radical Summer, the current event in Rocket League, has entered its final phase. Running June 10 – August 12, the event has spread out over three phases of two weeks each: Blockbusters, Culture, and Television. And now, with the television phase upon us, Knight Rider, of course, cannot be omitted. As of today, the iconic Knight Rider car K.I.T.T. is permanently available as premium DLC in Rocket League for $1.99, joining a line-up of licensed Battle-Cars such as the Batmobiles, Ghostbusters’ ECTO-1, the Nissan Skyline, Back to the Future’s DeLorean, and many others. The DLC also comes with several items from K.I.T.T to customize your car with, but K.I.T.T itself cannot be customized with different items.

What’s the hitbox?
K.I.T.T. employs a Dominus hitbox, the second-most popular hitbox in the competitive scene. Where the Octane was recently given the Fennec Battle-Car, the Dominus now also has a new member in its ranks. Whether it’ll actually be used in the professional scene, however, remains to be seen. The last car that was added into the game at a later point that had any kind of significant presence was the Batmobile, which has since been retired by most pros due to constant updates changing how the car handles. That leaves just the Octane, Dominus, and Breakout as the main cars. The Fennec, however, is also making an appearance since its release a few weeks back. All we can do is wait to see whether these new cars will stand the test of time.
What else?
K.I.T.T isn’t the only thing coming in this phase of Rocket League, of course. Several new items have been added to the rewards, which are unlocked with cassettes, the currency for this event. The items are, as the phase suggests, from popular television shows during the ‘80s, like Voltron. A full list of previews of the rewards can be found on the official Radical Summer page.
A limited beach ball game mode is also available, featuring a lighter ball with the curve mutator enabled to make it behave like a real beach ball. The mode is set appropriately on the Salty Shores map, which is also available in a much-requested night version as of today!
