After a weekend of intense matches, Chinese player jiuqianyu became the Hearthstone Masters Tour Silvermoon champion. He won the majority of the $250,000 prize pool up for grabs at the event.
Hearthstone Masters Tour Silvermoon competitors duked it out within the United in Stormwind expansion, using the Conquest format. The format involved bringing four unique classes and four decks to the tournament. Each player also banned one deck from their opponent.
Journey to the top
In the final match, jiuqianyu went up against Romaric “AyRoK” Dubois, who bested his opponent in the semi-final using Quest Mage, Handlock and Face Hunter. Using Quick Shot, AyRoK’s aggressive Hunter deck defeated Judgement’s Quest Mage for the match point.
As for jiuqianyu, he won the semi-final match against Gao “RNGLeaoh” Yang. Jiuqianyu performed a reverse sweep against RNGLeaoh and won the fifth game, with a score of 3-2.
A nail-biting final
When it came down to the final match, jiuqianyu brought his Hybrid Garrote Rogue deck into the fray and claimed victory in the first game against AyRoK’s Quest Mage. Jiuqianyu then earned another point thanks to D6 Warlock.
However, AyRoK prevented a clean sweep by evening up the score. AyRoK won the third game against Quest Shaman thanks to Quest Mage, along with a Fireball to the face. AyRoK then secured another win, with full board control in the late game with Handlock.
Despite this, jiuqianyu persisted and won using Quest Shaman against Face Hunter in the final game. It was a close match, as AyRoK was one damage off lethal. Jiuqianyu closed out the Hearthstone Masters Tour Silvermoon tournament with exact lethal to his opponent’s face.
With this victory, jiuqianyu became the Masters Tour Silvermoon champion.
