There are few killstreaks, if any that are more iconic in Call of Duty than the original Tactical Nuke from Modern Warfare 2 (2009). It spawned an entire era of content creation and is likely one of the many reasons Call of Duty is still so popular today. So, with the return of so much content from the original MW2 in Modern Warfare 3, can we also expect the developers to add the Tactical Nuke?
The Nuke has returned in Call of Duty several times but under a new name in most instances. It’s been called the MOAB, KEM Strike, DNA Bomb, V2 Rocket, among others. However, the base for the killstreak is always the same: go on a long gun streak and call in a Nuke of some sort that either ends the current game or affects the match in some way.
Below, you can see if you will be going for a Nuke in Modern Warfare 3 or if the iconic killstreak is shelved this year.
Does Modern Warfare 3 have a Tactical Nuke?
The full release of MW3 has confirmed that the Tactical Nuke killstreak has returned in multiplayer. As outlined in my previous guide, you can acquire the Nuke by going on a 30 gunstreak, which means your killstreak kills don’t count toward your Nuke progress. Luckily, the Nuke is a hidden killstreak, meaning you don’t have to use up one of your three streak slots in order to earn it.

Naturally, this is an extremely difficult task, as a 30 gunstreak is really only possible in certain game modes. If you do manage to get a Nuke, calling it in will end the current match and give your team the victory. The animation and process of getting the Nuke is the exact same in MW3 as it is in MW2.
