IEM Beijing

Season 14 of the Intel Extreme Masters will feature four events, like usual. Team Liquid won the previous two IEM events back to back in Sydney and Chicago. Fnatic was the runner up for Sydney, while ENCE took that position in Chicago instead. IEM Beijing will mark the last event of Season 14 before the World Championship in February of 2020. This S-Tier event will take place at the Beijing University Students’ Stadium and feature eight teams competing for a $250,000 prize pool.

One more invite remains after the four teams have been selected, with the other three going to teams that win at the qualifier events. This includes a Chinese Qualifier on Sept 22 and an Asian Qualifier on Sept 24. The last spot will go to the winner of the GGBET Beijing Invitational. Tickets to attend the Beijing event are offered at 299 RMB for a Weekend General Admission pass, which is equivalent to about $42 USD.

NRG Esports

North American esports organization NRG Esports is owned by the co-owners of the National Basketball Association’s Sacramento Kings. The organization also operates the Overwatch League franchise San Francisco Shock, along with a recent purchase into the upcoming franchised 2020 Call of Duty League for the city of Chicago.

The current CSGO roster consists of Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte, Cvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov, Ethan “Ethan” Arnold, Tarik “tarik” Celik, and in-game leader Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz. Chet “ImAPet” Singh is the coach of the team. The roster recently placed 3 – 4th at the StarLadder Berlin Major, which vaulted them up to a Counter-Strike World Ranking of #3. The players have also recently taken 3 – 4th at the Finals of Season 9’s ESL Pro League and 3rd at BLAST Pro Series: Los Angeles.

From the GGBET Beijing Invitational, both German-based organizations G2 Esports and mousesports have made it into the semifinals with a 2 – 0 score. Chinese organizations like TYLOO and ViCi Gaming have been invited to the Chinese Qualifier. Thai organization ALPHA Red and South Korean organization Team MVP are the two invited to the Asian Qualifier. G2 Esports was an invite at the past IEM Chicago event. However, Heroic made it through the GGBET Invitational at the last event, though it is currently 1-1 in the Beijing Invitational.
