Los Angeles-based esports organization Immortals is reportedly signing former Team Liquid jungler Jake “Xmithie” Puchero to its League of Legends roster, according to ESPN. This news comes after a previous report that Team Liquid had reportedly acquired Fnatic jungler Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen from Team Liquid, to replace Xmithie’s spot.

Xmithie to Immortals roster
The addition of Xmithie to the former OpTic Gaming roster and soon-to-be rebranded Immortals lineup is not surprising. There have been rumors of his replacement and Xmithie is also considered one of the best junglers in North America. He has had six World Championships appearances as well.
The 28-year old jungler first started competing in League of Legends in 2012 for teams like mTw North America, Monomaniac Ferus, Team FeaR, Team Vulcun, and XDG Gaming. He later played for Wazabi Gaming, Complexity Gaming Black, and Counter Logic Gaming as well, before joining Immortals in 2017. After not being selected to join the franchised North American League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) in 2018, the Immortals organization disbanded. Most of the former Immortals roster signed with Team Liquid, except for William “Stunt” Chen and Lee “Flame” Ho-jong.
Acquiring OpTic Gaming LCS slot
Immortals parent company, Immortals Gaming Club (IGC), acquired Infinite Esports & Entertainment in June of 2019. With this acquisition, IGC also obtained North American esports organization OpTic Gaming which owned an LCS slot. This LCS franchise slot is set to rebrand to the Immortals name in 2020.
Not much is known about who the Immortals lineup will consist of. While the OpTic Gaming LCS roster has transferred over, five of the players have since had their contracts expire. William “Meteos” Hartman left the organization on November 18. In addition, no news has been heard about players like Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett, Lee “Crown” Min-ho, and Noh “Arrow” Dong-hyeon yet.
