The lightest HyperX mouse yet, has arrived. This is one of the lightest mice currently on the market and it’s designed specifically for Battle Royale games. But how does it actually feel when gaming? Is it really that light? We got our hands on the HyperX Pulsefire Haste to put it through the wringer.

Super-ultra lightweight

Why did we call this the super-ultra lightweight gaming mouse? Because that’s what it is. The HyperX Pulsefire Haste weighs in at 59 grams, or a little over two ounces. That’s about half a tin of tuna, and I mean the small tins, like those ones you have with your lunch. When I received the Pulsefire Haste, it was almost as if the box was empty. The cable on this mouse weighs more than the mouse itself! In terms of being lightweight and one of the lightest mice around, it certainly hits the mark.

But why would anyone even want lightweight? I for one enjoy feeling like I still have a mouse in my hand. With the rise of Battle Royale games and general uptake of first person shooters, the lightweight mouse is becoming the gamer’s choice. Lightweight mice prove easier to make quick movements, and are supposedly easier to aim with. The honeycomb design on the HyperX Pulsefire Haste is part of the reason this mouse is so lightweight. You can see straight through the mouse too, and the cut outs make for good airflow. This feature feels really nice during those intense gaming moments, when your hands tend to get sweaty.

You can literally see daylight through this mouse.

During my time testing the mouse, my housemate walked in and said “won’t that get really dusty and filled with dirt?” Good question, I thought. With all the holes in the mouse, you’d think this would be the perfect place for dust to find its way in. Luckily, HyperX thought about that and added a dustproof switch to the internals. You won’t need to worry about this mouse getting all clogged up then.

Grip, cables, and customization

If you like RGB then you’ll probably want to steer clear of the HyperX Pulsefire Haste. It’s so lightweight there’s barely any room for fancy lights, and only the scroll wheel lights up. Instead, there are other ways to customize this mouse. If you want quick aiming without slipping, then add some grip tape to the mouse. The HyperX Pulsefire Haste comes with tape you can add to the sides, mouse clicks, and even the little blue skates. The grip feels great and it doesn’t feel like you’re going to slip out, or lose aim while playing. You won’t have to worry about the cable either. The mouse might be super light, but the cable is sturdy and strong. If you want to ensure the cable doesn’t weigh you down too much, it might be worth using a bungee with the Pulsefire.

Getting hold of the HyperX Pulsefire Haste

The Pulsefire Haste is the perfect companion to the HyperX Alloy Origins keyboard. Whilst a little heavier, the keyboard is slimline, complimenting the honeycomb look and feel of the Pulsefire Haste. Plus, the Alloy Origins will definitely make up for the Pulsefire Haste’s lack of RGBs, if you’re into that sort of thing.

While maybe not the highest-end gaming mouse, featuring no fancy RGBs, the Pulsefire Haste is certainly one of the lightest options around. Oh, and it’s relatively cheap too. You can add the Pulsefire Haste to your collection for only $49.99 USD (approx. $89 AUD).
