In July, Activision blew the Call of Duty: Warzone community away by announcing that the World Series of Warzone was returning in 2022. The tournament saw massive success in 2021 when it was first held. High-profile players and creators in both NA and EU faced off in both Solo and Trio matches, much to the viewer’s delight. This year, Activision has upped the ante by offering $400,000 in prize money and online qualifiers for any player to participate.

In 2022, the World Series of Warzone is starting much earlier than it did last year. The online qualifiers for the Trios tournament in NA and EU are starting later this month in August. These qualifiers give any player with a couple of teammates a chance at winning their way into the main tournament. Starting on Aug. 12, fans will see a new Trios BR playlist appear in Warzone. Players will take to the streets of Caldera to try and make the top 40 teams on the leaderboards. If they make the top 40, they’ll move onto the World Series qualifiers, which take place on Aug. 20 for EU and Aug. 21 for NA.

The main tournament will see the qualified teams, in addition to teams who were directly invited, battle it out for $300K. The directly invited teams will be made up of streamers, professional players, and other creators. This battle for Trios dominance takes place on Sept. 6 for EU and Sept. 7 for NA.

In addition to the main Trios tournament, Activision is also bringing back the SoloYolo event. This Solos tournament will only feature top content creators and has a grand prize of $100K. OpTic Texas’ Seth “Scump” Abner won this event last year. The SoloYolo tournament takes place in EU and NA on the same days as the main Trios event. Here’s a breakdown of the event dates:

  • Aug. 12-15 – EU and NA Open Qualifiers
  • Aug. 20-21 – EU and NA Qualifiers
  • Sept. 6-7 – EU and NA World Series of Warzone Trios and SoloYolo event

Fans can tune into all of the action on the Call of Duty Twitch channel. We’ll be sure to update fans as the teams and players for the World Series of Warzone are announced.
