How to unlock the Welgun SMG in Vanguard and Warzone Pacific

When the Mid-Season update went live in Call of Duty: Vanguard, the Welgun submachine gun became available to unlock, in one of two ways, for players in Vanguard and Warzone Pacific.

In the update, the Welgun is described as a “heavy full-auto SMG with lethality and range perfect for short to medium-range engagements.” Activision also stated that the Welgun can kill three shots if players aim for vital areas of an enemy’s body. If not, the SMG can kill in four shots, lining up its time-to-kill with other guns in its category.

Unlock the Welgun in Vanguard and Warzone Pacific

The Welgun is unlocked through completing in-game challenges in either game. The challenge that players need to complete to unlock the Welgun is seen below:

• Get 10 kills while aiming down sights with an SMG in a single match 15 times

Players can also hop into Zombies to complete a different challenge. This one is a bit easier than the multiplayer one but will still take some time.

• Get five rapid-fire headshot kills in 50 different portal zones

Of course, if either of those challenges sounds too difficult, players can always go the paid route. The Reserved Steel bundle will go live on Thursday in the Vanguard and Warzone Pacific store. The bundle will contain a blueprint for the Welgun, which allows players to immediately unlock it. There’s no word yet on a price for the Reserved Steel bundle.
