There will be two new weapons available to players when Season 1 of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 releases tomorrow on Nov. 16. The first weapon is a new submachine gun, the BAS-P, which is usable in the MW2 Campaign. The other weapon is a new sniper rifle, the Victus XMR.

Currently, there’s a bug in MW2 that lets players see the Victus XMR in multiplayer, but the sniper is not currently in the game. When Season 1 does launch, though, players are going to be curious as to how to unlock the Victus XMR in both Warzone 2 and MW2.

The Victus XMR is a bolt-action sniper rifle that should fit in nicely with the current offering of snipers in MW2. Activision describes the Victus as a “hard-hitting, bolt action sniper rifle with .50 cal BMG ammunition.” The weapon will belong to the Imperatorium Platform and it sounds like it should be a powerful quick scoping sniper.

Unlock the Victus XMR in Warzone 2 and MW2

The Victus XMR and the BAS-P will both be Battle Pass weapons when Season 1 arrives on Nov. 16. They will both be free weapons, as all Battle Pass guns have been in the past.

However, the Battle Pass has been changed this year. Instead of going through 100 straight tiers of content, the items will be broken up into 20 different sections. Players can use earned Battle Pass Tokens to unlock any section they want and use more tokens to unlock the content within those sections. This essentially means players can unlock the Victus XMR right away after they earn enough Battle Pass Tokens.

Players who purchased the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 2 will presumably be able to unlock items right away, as the edition promised 50 Tier Skips. It’s unclear exactly what those are with this new Battle Pass system, but players should be able to unlock the Victus XMR quickly regardless.

We’ll learn more about the unlock process for the Victus XMR and the Season 1 Battle Pass as a whole tomorrow when the content update drops in Warzone 2 and MW2.
