The TR-76 Geist is the newest assault rifle in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. It arrived with the Season 6 update and has immediately become a fan-favorite assault rifle. A replica of the classic TAR-21 and RAM-7, the TR-76 Geist hits extremely hard, has little recoil, and is quite enjoyable to use. However, it can take a while to unlock via the Battle Pass and all of the bundles associated with it in the Store are expensive. So, if you’re looking to unlock the TR-76 Geist a little easier, I recommend going into DMZ.
While seasonal weapons aren’t really added to the DMZ mode specifically anymore, you can still take advantage of an unlock trick for any gun that has been around since the mode launched. In this guide, I’ll show you how you can take advantage of DMZ to easily unlock the TR-76 Geist for use in MW2 or Warzone.
Unlocking the TR-76 Geist in DMZ
The unlock method for any gun in DMZ is extremely simple, but it will require you to party up with someone who already has the weapon unlocked. If you manage to find someone with the gun unlocked, then party up with them and hop into a DMZ lobby together.
Before entering a match, though, make sure your party member has the TR-76 Geist equipped on their primary loadout. Once that’s done, enter a DMZ match, and then all that needs to happen is the party member drops the TR-76 Geist from their inventory. Then, you can simply pick up the weapon, extract from the match, and then the TR-76 Geist will be fully unlocked for you across DMZ, MW2, and Warzone.

It’s as easy as that, but finding someone willing to drop you their TR-76 Geist can be difficult. Luckily, just because that person dropped their gun to you doesn’t mean it takes the gun away from them. They will still have the TR-76 Geist fully unlocked in MW2 and Warzone. All that’s changing is they drop their version of the gun to you in DMZ.
If you don’t need the gun in DMZ, you can always go back into another match with that same friend who just dropped you their version and repeat the process. Except this time, you can drop the gun to your friend so they can have it back in DMZ. While you won’t have the gun in DMZ anymore, you’ll still have it unlocked in multiplayer and battle royale.
