Season 4 Reloaded has been formally announced and Activision has unveiled all of the content that will arrive with the update. A part of that content in Call of Duty: Warzone and MW2 is the MX Guardian shotgun, which players will need to unlock in one of two ways before they can equip it onto a loadout.
Traditionally, weapons that arrive in the middle of a season are not available on the Battle Pass, forcing players to complete a single challenge to unlock it. However, this does not technically apply to the MX Guardian in Season 4, as Activision is changing up how mid-season weapons are unlocked. Below, you can see exactly how to unlock the new shotgun in MW2 and Warzone.
Unlock the MX Guardian in MW2 and Warzone
You are able to unlock the MX Guardian in MW2 and Warzone by completing the Classified Sector of the Season 4 Battle Pass. The Classified Sector does not require Battle Pass Tokens to unlock like the other sectors, though. Instead, players must complete a series of four different challenges to unlock the shotgun.
These are the four challenges you need to complete in the Classified Sector of the Battle Pass are as follows:
- Dependable Emblem:Â Get 10 ADS Operator Kills with Shotguns
- Gunfire Calling Card: Get 10 Hipfire Operator Kills with Shotguns
- Fanning Hutch Loading Screen:Â Get 10 Headshot Operator Kills with Shotguns
- 1 Hour Double Weapon XP Token: Get 10 One Shot Operator Kills with Shotguns
Once you finish all four of those challenges, you will have the MX Guardian unlocked to use in both MW2 and Warzone. The MX Guardian is a fully-auto shotgun that players could find immediate success with in both multiplayer and battle royale. The Season 4 Reloaded update launches at 12 pm ET on Wednesday, July 12.
