The Open Beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is finally here. PlayStation 4 users who have digitally pre-ordered any version of the game can download and hop on the beta starting on October 8 at 1 pm ET. The beta will last until the end of the weekend before going back online starting October 15 for the other systems. However, simply playing the beta isn’t the only reward you’ll receive during these times. Treyarch announced that a weapon blueprint, Mutual Animosity, will be up for grabs in the beta of Black Ops Cold War. Here’s how to unlock it.
The Mutual Animosity blueprint in Black Ops Cold War
Giving out rewards for beta participation has become commonplace in Call of Duty. Last year, Modern Warfare offered the same deal for players who played the beta and reached a certain level. This not only incentivizes people to play but also gives developers helpful data on how the game operates.
The same type of deal is going on with this year’s Open Beta. Treyarch revealed that two rewards would be unlocked in two different games if you played a role in the beta. One of these rewards is the Mutual Animosity Epic weapon blueprint, which is fairly simple to unlock.
All you need to do is reach level 10 in Black Ops Cold War during the Open Beta. If you accomplish this, then the blueprint will be waiting for you once the game launches on November 13. However, if you fail to reach level 10 by the time the beta ends on October 19, you won’t unlock Mutual Animosity.
The blueprint itself is for the Type-821 submachine gun. However, it looks pretty sleek with the light color scheme and huge attachments. There’s no word on what specific attachments are on the blueprint, but we’ll see at launch.
