How to unlock every Agent in Valorant

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Valorant has been out for almost a week now, and anyone who wants to play it can do so. One of the most exciting aspects of Valorant is the different Agents that players can unlock and play. Unfortunately, each player only starts with five, and the other six must be unlocked. Here’s how to get all of them.

The five Agents each player gets to start

Every player gets five Agents for free to start them off. This ensures that everyone has at least one agent to play if their teammates take the other four. Here are the five everyone gets:

  • Brimstone
  • Jett
  • Phoenix
  • Sage
  • Sova

How to unlock the other six

To play the other six Agents in Valorant, players must unlock them. Upon starting the game, players will receive two Agents for free from playing games and leveling up their Ignition: Act 1 contract. Players earn one at level five and another at level 10. Unlocking someone with this method will automatically level the chosen Agent’s contract to level five.

Upon reaching level 10, players will unlock Contracts. These Contracts include various rewards for each level. To unlock a character, players must reach level five on that Agent’s Contract. To level up a contract, players must earn experience by playing games and completing missions to earn experience. Contract levels can also be purchased using 200 Valorant Points (1,000 Valorant Points is $10 USD).

Here are the other six Agents that players can unlock this way:

  • Breach
  • Cypher
  • Omen
  • Reyna
  • Raze
  • Viper

Unlocking every Agent will be a grind if you aren’t willing to spend money. The contracts take a while to level up after you get the two free. So, if you have some spare cash and really want someone, that’s probably the way to go if you aren’t willing to put in the time to level up their contracts through experience.
