Ever since Call of Duty: Warzone was introduced, and especially after Ranked Play was brought in with Season 3, players have been craving a “rejoin” feature. This would essentially allow players who were disconnected from a match to re-enter if they were able to get back online within a certain timeframe. It can be highly frustrating to be disconnected from a Ranked Play match due to an in-game error and then be forced to lose out on SR because you are unable to finish the match with your teammates.
Fortunately, the community’s wish has been granted, and a rejoin feature is now available with Warzone Season 4. Below, I will get into exactly how you can rejoin your teammates and the criteria for rejoining a match.
Rejoin a match in Warzone
It’s important to note that this feature is currently only available in Warzone Ranked Play. Also, players who intentionally leave a match after three minutes of being eliminated will not be given the option to rejoin.
This feature is purely designed to give players who are alive and playing the option to reconnect to the match after they “unintendedly disconnect.” This can apply to receiving a dev error, having the servers malfunction, and anything in between. After you are disconnected from a match you have four minutes to rejoin. You will be given the option to rejoin your previous match after you get back to the main lobby of Warzone.
However, if the following criteria are not met, then you will not be given the option to rejoin:
- Players must have at least 1 Squad member remaining.
- There must be at least 5 Squads remaining in the match.
- Players can only rejoin the same match once.
- To protect against abuse, players can have their ability to rejoin temporarily limited if they repeatedly disconnect from matches.
It remains to be seen if this feature will work properly from the start of Warzone Season 4. If it does, then Ranked Play fans can rest easy knowing that they won’t lose out on any SR due to disconnections beyond their control.
