Play Pokémon is giving away a battle-ready Porygon 2 to anyone who tunes in to the Pokémon Players Cup between August 22 and August 24. Here’s how you can watch the event and claim your own.

How to claim Porygon 2

To get Porygon 2, you will need a copy of Pokémon Sword or Shield. Then, you will need to watch the broadcast of the Players Cup VG Finals. During the broadcast, you will be able to find a password to unlock Porygon 2. Once you get the password, you will need to open the Mystery Gift menu, select “Get a Mystery Gift”, then select “Get with Code/Password”. You can enter the password here to claim your battle-ready Porygon 2. The Pokémon will appear in your party or your first open slot on your boxes.

Porygon 2 is a strong Pokémon in the Video Game Championship (VGC) format. Since it isn’t fully evolved, it can hold an Eviolite, which will boost its Defense and Special Defense stats. It also has a low base speed, which makes it an ideal Trick Room user. If you are unfamiliar with Trick Room, it is a popular move that makes the Pokémon with the lowest Speed stat move first. This allows players to invest their EVs into other stats and still move first. Since many players use fast Pokémon like Dragapult, Trick Room can really turn the tides of a battle.

This Porygon 2 will be battle-ready, which means it will already competitive IVs, EVs, and moves. If you are interested in getting into competitive Pokémon, this is a great place to start. You can build a good Trick Room team around this Pokémon and get started.
