How to find a Harvester Orb in MW3 Zombies

When you get to a certain Act Two mission in Call of Duty MW3 Zombies, you are required to collect 15 items from something called a Harvester Orb. At first, you might have no idea what that is, but then it might make sense depending on how much Zombies you have played.

In case you still aren’t sure, Harvester Orbs are the floating purple spheres that pop up in random locations around the map. They float slowly in the air above a location until you shoot at them, at which point they speed up and also drop Essence on the ground where they were shot. For this particular mission in Zombies, you need to find three different Harvester Orbs, which is a tall task.

Below, you can find some tips that should help with your Harvester Orb hunting in MW3 Zombies.

Finding a Harvester Orb in MW3 Zombies

As previously stated, the locations where Harvester Orbs spawn are completely random from match to match. That means there is no map with spawn points I can offer you.

However, if you want to expedite the process of finding the orbs, you primarily want to look around fields just outside of major POIs. Harvester Orbs are commonly found floating above grass or inside small encampments, away from large buildings. The easiest way I have found to search the map for Harvester Orbs is to simply drive around the outskirts of the major POIs in Urzikstan, staying mostly on the roads that go along the roaming hills in the Low and Medium Threat Zones.

When driving around the map, you want to ensure you’re looking about 20-30 feet above the ground for the Harvester Orbs. You also need to keep checking your map; when you’re close enough to a Harvester Orb, a moving icon will appear on your map letting you know where the orb is located. The icon looks like a planet, as seen below.

Other than that, there aren’t many tips for finding Harvester Orbs in MW3 Zombies. They can be quite frustrating to look for, especially when you need three of them to complete the Act Two mission in Zombies.

If you do manage to find some Harvester Orbs, make sure you keep shooting them until they start dropping real items and not just Essence. This is the only way to fully complete your mission.
