The release of Season 1 in MW3 and Warzone introduced the first Battle Pass of the new year. The Battle Pass looks just like the ones released over the course of MW2 and it works the exact same as well. This means you need to progress through the tiers using Battle Pass Tokens, which can only be acquired in two ways in MW3 and Warzone.
Battle Pass Tokens have been the way to progress a Battle Pass for a few years in Call of Duty. However, if you’re new to the franchise or just need a refresher course, you can check out the guide below to see exactly how to earn the tokens.
Earning Battle Pass Tokens in MW3 and Warzone
Battle Pass Tokens can only be earned through two different ways, one of which is free and the other is not. The first and most common way players earn Battle Pass Tokens is through simply playing MW3 and Warzone.
Every time you hop into a match of multiplayer, Zombies, or Warzone, you earn a little progress to your next Battle Pass Token. The more XP you collect throughout the match, the more progress you earn to the next token. So, for example, if you win a Warzone match, you’ll earn far more progress toward a Battle Pass Token compared to just playing a quick match of multiplayer. If you want to expedite your token progress, you can use a Battle Pass Double XP Token, which doubles your progress rate.
The second way you can earn Battle Pass Tokens is by purchasing them with COD Points. One token costs 150 COD Points, which can then be used to acquire one tier of content on the Battle Pass. To purchase a Battle Pass Token, simply purchase any amount of COD Points, click on a tier you don’t own in the Battle Pass, and you’ll be able to buy it.

Those are the only ways to acquire Battle Pass Tokens in MW3 and Warzone, so you need to either get to playing or open up your wallet if you want to progress your pass.
