How to claim Twitch Drops in Modern Warfare 2

Claim the new rewards that Twitch is offering for MW2

A brand new feature coming in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is Twitch Drops, which allows players to earn rewards simply for watching a Twitch streamer. Twitch Drops have been a feature for multiple years; they were how players got access to the VALORANT beta in 2020, for example. However, Call of Duty has never done Twitch Drops regularly. That’s changing with MW2, though.

Announced in a blog post earlier today, players can earn Twitch Drops right when MW2 releases on Oct. 28. The promotion will end on Nov. 6, so players need to act fast if they want to earn the rewards from the drops. We’ll explain how to go about earning the drops and what rewards players can get from them below.

Claiming Twitch Drops in Modern Warfare 2

Before players can even think about earning those rewards in MW2, they need to ensure their Twitch and Activision accounts are linked. Players can do this by following the steps below:

  • Go to Activision’s website https://bit.ly/CODTwitchLink
  • Log in with your primary Activision account that you’ll be playing MW2 on
  • Look at the list of connections and find the Twitch one at the bottom of the page
  • Click on the “Link Account” box next to the Twitch box
  • Log in with your Twitch credentials
  • Go back to your Activision profile and ensure that the “Link Account” box has changed to “Unlink”

Once you’ve completed those steps, you need to wait until Oct. 28 when MW2 releases. Then, you need to find a Twitch streamer that has the MW2 Twitch Drops enabled on their channel. This will be marked on the streamer’s channel page. To earn all of the possible rewards, you need to watch that streamer, or any other one, for a total of 60 minutes.

After that’s done, all of your Twitch Drops will appear on your Twitch screen. If you’ve earned them all, they will be waiting for you the next time you log into Modern Warfare 2. Here are all the rewards from the Twitch Drops and how many minutes you need to watch for each of them:

  • Weapon Blueprint – 60 Mins
  • Sticker – 45 Mins
  • Calling Card and Emblem – 30 Mins
  • Charm – 15 Mins

To sum up, all you have to do is link your Twitch and Activision accounts, find a Twitch streamer with drops enabled, watch them for 60 minutes, and reap the rewards in MW2.
