This week’s CSGO global ranking changes by HLTV feature Heroic climb five spots, mousesports overtaking Fnatic to sit at #2, and Vitality getting closer to the top five. These are most likely to be this year’s last major ranking changes as Christmas is here and there will be no more top-tier LAN events in the coming time before 2020.
#2 mousesports: A fantastic end of the year
Currently, there is no other team that deserves the #2 spot on the ranking. The European medley of talent saw the team winning their last three out of four LAN events and being the runner-up of the latest EPICENTER loss versus Vitality in the grand finale. The team’s form is nothing short of formidable. Mousesports jumps two spots to spot number two, overtaking Team Liquid and Fnatic. Let us hope to see more of the same from the incredibly promising mix of young and experienced players on the mousesports roster in 2020.
#6 Vitality: ZywOo and co. finish out 2019 strong
After an incredible showing of pure skill out of Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut at EPICENTER, there is no doubt that the 19-year-old is an exceptional player with only more to give and show in 2020. Vitality had a rough couple of events starting out by losing the final of DreamHack Masters Malmo to Fnatic and then failing to get to the finale of both StarSeries i-League and IEM Beijing. The team’s last LAN event of the year, EPICENTER in Moscow, Russia, saw the team clinching a victory against mousesports. Vitality, therefore, has said goodbye to 2019 with a smile as the team climbs two spots to sit on #6, overtaking FaZe Clan and 100 Thieves in the process.
#16 Heroic: The Danes continue their climb
Heroic, often considered an underdog team, has successfully made it to spot #16 on the ranking. The five-spot climb is a result of reaching the semi-final of EPICENTER before the team had to face Vitality, the aforementioned winner of the event. Casper “cadiaN” Møller’s team has failed to find success at events since their win at DreamHack Open Atlanta. If the team had placed higher, or won at least one more event after that, then perhaps we may have seen them in the top 10. Despite that, the Danish squad ends 2019 on a pretty good note.
